About the Sage space

Sejal (Sage) Katyal

MACP | Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

I am a master’s-level Counselling Psychology practicum student

currently completing my M.A. in Counselling Psychology at

Yorkville University. I provide individual and couples therapy

through Taylor Ashley Therapy under the clinical supervision of

my approved practicum supervisor.

I work with individuals and couples who are feeling emotionally

overwhelmed, disconnected, or uncertain about changes in

themselves or their relationships. Many clients I support

experience anxiety, difficulties with emotional regulation or

communication, or long-standing relational patterns that no

longer feel aligned. My approach is collaborative, relational,

and grounded in respect, with a focus on helping clients

develop greater self-awareness, emotional steadiness,

and more meaningful connections.

Alongside my clinical training, I bring several years of experience

working in mental health, behavioural, and community-based

settings. I have worked with children, youth, caregivers, and families through roles with the Canadian Mental Health Association, Learning Disabilities Association of Wellington County, Autism Behavioural Services, and Connections Behaviour Consulting. This background informs a compassionate, neurodiversity-affirming lens and a strong appreciation for the impact of systems, culture, and context on mental health.

I am actively pursuing advanced training in evidence-based and attachment-focused approaches, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy. I have a particular interest in relational work, emotional processing, and supporting clients in building healthier, more secure relationships.

I offer both in-person and virtual sessions, with flexible availability including evenings and weekends. Reduced student rates and sliding scale options are available to help make therapy more accessible.

My goal is to create a supportive, respectful, and collaborative therapeutic space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered.
